I was just reading an email from a friend inviting us to a potluck and I realized just now that I have suddenly become pretty adept at allergy cooking. Collectively, several of my friends and their families and mine have a long list of foods that have to be avoided:
Meat
Gluten
Dairy
Tomato
Citrus (including citric acid)
Eggs
Mushrooms
Shellfish
Strawberries
Vinegar
Nuts (all except almonds)
Peanuts

Oy! Good thing there isn't a soy or bean sensitivity in there...our options can't get much narrower lol One of the other families suggested we all bring alcohol and potato chips and call it dinner hehehehe

I think, in some ways, that it's harder for the other two families coming because they are used to being able to use mushrooms (and can't because it's me who has the mushroom allergy) and that's taking out a big staple for them! Then again, not being able to use tomatoes might kill me lol I make a lot of tomato based recipes.

I already know what I'm going to make...chickpea curry and coconut rice. It was a pretty timely invitation, actually, because I already had that on the menu for this week's dinners so I don't even have to go out and buy ingredients!
